In preparation for this anniversary and as a sign of its commitment to offering hospitality for decades to come, the St. Regis Hotel is replacing its elevator for the first time since 1960. The brand-new elevator is the largest example of an ongoing maintenance program which sees every room in the hotel stripped, refreshed, and deep-cleaned every winter.

The St. Regis Hotel adds new services for Mexican travellers to Canada
St. Regis Hotel Vancouver adds new services for Mexican travellers and agents
Mexican visitors have been one of the fastest-growing groups of travellers to the city of Vancouver, and the arrival of so many new friends from the city’s North American neighbours has energizing and exciting.
The St. Regis Hotel is very pleased to celebrate this important moment with the addition of toll-free phone service from Mexico along with a dedicated travel consultant to serve the Mexican travel industry and Mexican travellers even better.
The new toll-free number is available to travel agents and tourists alike at 01.800.070.4702, and full service in Spanish will be available daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm (Central Time), Monday to Friday, with service in English available 24 hours a day.

Hannah Enkerlin, a native of Monterrey will be available to support travel agents in learning more about the St. Regis Hotel, Vancouver attractions, and to help make bookings for their guests.
In fact, the St. Regis Hotel has felt extra connected to Mexico for some time, as its entrance archway was originally part of the façade of an 18th-century Mexico City building destroyed in the 1985 earthquake. Elements from the façade have been installed in various building around Vancouver, including the St. Regis Hotel, where it has welcomed guests since its installation in 2002.

Celebrating Canada Day
This Saturday is Canada's 150th Birthday and the St. Regis Hotel is very proud that it's been around to celebrate over 100 of them so far, welcoming guests with Canadian owned-and-operated hospitality.
Canada 150 has made us think a little more about what it means to be Canadian, and we’ve come to see our hotel as being a microcosm of the Canadian experience. Our staff has roots all over the world—Europe, Asia, South and Central America, Africa—and we work together with the common goal of offering all our guests a warm welcome and genuine hospitality during their visit to Vancouver. What could be more Canadian than that?
We all feel very proud and lucky to live in this incredible country and beautiful city and it’s our privilege to share it with visitors who travel from all over the world to stay with us.
So, with that in mind, we’d like to wish everyone a very happy Canada Day.

A Tribute to Dave O'Brien
When our maintenance manager Dave O'Brien passed away last year, we knew that we wanted to find a way to keep his memory alive in the neighbourhood.
Dave knew every inch of our block and made sure that everything was ship-shape. So, we have had a plaque made and installed in the hotel alley and we think it's a fitting tribute to the person who meant so much to all of us.
From now on, the service way will be proudly be called "Dave's Alley."

WE'RE A 2015 FORBES TRAVEL RECOMMENDED HOTEL
The 2015 Forbes Travel Guide Awards were released this week and the St. Regis Hotel is proud to again be included in this exclusive list of the best travel destinations in the World. They listed their favourite things about the hotel like this:
"A mix of modern art and contemporary amenities made it easy for us to create a list of the five best things about The St. Regis Hotel:
1. The modern art. When the hotel was overhauled in 2009, the aim was to create a boutique hotel that included heaps of modern art. You’ll spot large abstract paintings at the ends of the hallways, hanging next to the reception desk and dotted throughout the property.
2. You can rent an iPad. For $25 a day, you can surf the Internet via an Apple iPad, and with strong wireless throughout the hotel, you can do so from your guest room, the lobby or the business center.
3. The location. If you’re coming in from the airport via Vancouver’s convenient Skytrain, you’ll find a stop is mere steps from the hotel’s entrance. You’re also in the heart of the city itself, with Pacific Centre Mall just a block away.
4. The heated bathroom floors. It’s the little things that put a room over the top, and in this case we were delighted to slide across warm marble floors in The St. Regis Hotel bathrooms.
5. The business center. While plenty of hotel business centers are boring, stuffy affairs with just a lone PC stuck in a corner, the business center at The St. Regis Hotel is vibrant and comfortable. You’ll find multiple computers lining the far wall, and several comfy leather armchairs arranged in front of a flat-screen television. The dark walls and recessed lighting make the space feel like a stylish library."

THE NATIONAL POST
When real estate mogul Rob Macdonald revamped Vancouver’s historic St. Regis hotel in 2008, he decided to put his own stamp on it, making the kind of place he’d want to stay himself. The personal touch is evident in both service and generous inclusions at this boutique property (think free world-wide long-distance phone calls). This year, the Vancouver landmark – no relation to the Starwood St. Regis hotels – celebrates its 100th birthday, with the modern-day slogan “more than you expect, everything you deserve.”
