The St. Regis Hotel is sending DTES kids to see Disney on Ice
October 30, 2013
Located in the heart of the Downtown Eastside, the Strathcona Community Centre has been offering recreation and educational programs to local residents for over 40 years. The St. Regis Hotel is a proud supporter of the Strathcona Community Centre’s Food Safety Programs through both cash and equipment donations to the breakfast and after-school programs, weekend food backpacks and the family fun cooking lessons.
This year, the St. Regis Hotel is proud to be supporting the Strathcona Community Centre in a completely different way by donating 100 Disney on Ice tickets to the centre. That means that in November, a group of lucky local kids will be able to attend this gala show at the Pacific Coliseum where they’ll see their favourite Disney characters ands stories transported onto the ice.
“We’re very pleased to be working with Feld Entertainment, the producers of Disney on Ice, to send some of the great kids from the Strathcona Community Centre to see the show”, said Jeremy Roncoroni, GM of the St. Regis. “We understand that these shows are the kind of luxury that kids in the DTES often miss out on, and we hope that the night will be a great experience for them.”
