St. Regis Hotel Vancouver proud to again sponsor the RBC GranFondo Whistler

Posted September 9, 2011

For the second straight year, the St. Regis Hotel Vancouver is proudly the official hotel partner of the RBC GranFondo Whistler. This year, though, not only will St. Regis Hotel General Manager Jeremy Roncoroni and other members of the St. Regis Hotel team be on hand in Whistler handing out finisher medals, but there will also be St. Regis staff members riding to earn those medals.

One member of the team who’s taking on the GranFondo is Benjamin Menard, a popular member of our front desk team. Benjamin, 28, will be attempting to complete his very first GranFondo on Saturday as he rides the Sea-to-Sky Highway to Whistler with nearly 8000 other cyclists.

Benjamin is currently working toward his Clefs d’Or Concierges certification. It’s a process which not only requires study so that he can provide detailed, expert and thoughtful local knowledge to guests but also to develop the people and problem-solving skills necessary to make sure that every stay is a memorable one. If he applies himself to the ride with anything like the energy and dedication he puts into his profession, we expect to see him cross the finish line in Whistler with his usual smile in place.

Saturday morning, Benjamin will join the GranFondo guests staying at the St. Regis Hotel for a special extra early service of our complimentary full breakfast to get them all fuelled up for the ride ahead, which starts at 7am just a few blocks from the St. Regis.

We wish Benjamin and all the other riders in the 2011 RBC GranFondo Whistler the best of luck on what promise to be a clear and perfect day for a bike ride. As the Italians who invented the idea of GranFondo rides would say “FORZA!”
