St. Regis Hotel Vancouver adds new services for Mexican travellers and agents
Mexican visitors have been one of the fastest-growing groups of travellers to the city of Vancouver, and the arrival of so many new friends from the city’s North American neighbours has energizing and exciting.
The St. Regis Hotel is very pleased to celebrate this important moment with the addition of toll-free phone service from Mexico along with a dedicated travel consultant to serve the Mexican travel industry and Mexican travellers even better.
The new toll-free number is available to travel agents and tourists alike at 01.800.070.4702, and full service in Spanish will be available daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm (Central Time), Monday to Friday, with service in English available 24 hours a day.
In addition, the St. Regis Hotel is excited to announce the hiring of a new consultant for the Mexican travel market. Hannah Enkerlin, a native of Monterrey will be available to support travel agents in learning more about the St. Regis Hotel, Vancouver attractions, and to help make bookings for their guests.
In fact, the St. Regis Hotel has felt extra connected to Mexico for some time, as its entrance archway was originally part of the façade of an 18th-century Mexico City building destroyed in the 1985 earthquake. It was saved from the masonry grinder by a local designer and moved in to Vancouver in over 30 crates. Elements from the façade have been installed in various building around Vancouver, including the St. Regis Hotel, where it has welcomed guests since its installation in 2002.
Get great rates while our elevator is renovated this winter
This January, the St. Regis Hotel will commence some long-awaited major renovations on our elevator, the current version of which was installed in 1960.
While we will remain open during these renovations and will be offering guests very special incentives in compensation for the short walk up the stairs to their comfortable boutique hotel rooms.
The first three floors of the hotel will be open throughout the process with special rates as follows:
First floor: take $10 off our best available rate
Second floor: take $20 off our best available rate
Third floor: take $30 off our best available rate.
As always, hotel staff will be available to help move luggage in and out of the rooms and rooms rates include our full range of inclusions like:
- Full, hot cooked-to-order breakfast
- Free wi-fi throughout the hotel
- Free worldwide long distance calls and faxes
- Complimentary in-room bottled FIJI water
- 24-hour business centre access
- VIP access to the Steve Nash Sports Club

Celebrating Canada Day
This Saturday is Canada's 150th Birthday and the St. Regis Hotel is very proud that it's been around to celebrate over 100 of them so far, welcoming guests with Canadian owned-and-operated hospitality.
Canada 150 has made us think a little more about what it means to be Canadian, and we’ve come to see our hotel as being a microcosm of the Canadian experience. Our staff has roots all over the world—Europe, Asia, South and Central America, Africa—and we work together with the common goal of offering all our guests a warm welcome and genuine hospitality during their visit to Vancouver. A Tribute to Dave O'Brien
When our maintenance manager Dave O'Brien passed away last year, we knew that we wanted to find a way to keep his memory alive in the neighbourhood.
Dave knew every inch of our block and made sure that everything was ship-shape. So, we have had a plaque made and installed in the hotel alley and we think it's a fitting tribute to the person who meant so much to all of us.
From now on, the service way will be proudly be called "Dave's Alley."
St. Regis sends Vancouver families to see Monster Jam
The Strathcona Community Centre has been offering recreation, educational and food programs to residents of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside for over 40 years. The St. Regis Hotel has proudly supported the Strathcona Community Centre in a variety of ways in the past and is pleased to announce another program for DTES families.
The St. Regis Hotel has donated tickets to send groups of families to the gala shows at the Pacific Coliseum in the past and this year, the St. Regis Hotel will donate 100 tickets to see the Monster Jam show this April.
“It's our honour to be able to send so many deserving families to see these shows”, said Jeremy Roncoroni, GM of the St. Regis. “These shows are the kind of luxury that DTES kids often miss out growing up, and we’re sure that those who see Marvel Universe LIVE! will have an exiting and memorable experience.”
New Breakfast Menu is Launched
It’s said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and we believe that a great breakfast is the best way to start a day of travel. That’s why we’re committed to offering our guests a delicious free breakfast every day that they stay with us.
We’re constantly looking for ways to improve our breakfast service, and we have listened to guest feedback and made many changes along the way, from going to fresh cracked eggs for every dish, to changing our breakfast potatoes, to changing our coffee supplier.
Most recently, we responded to guests feedback by revamping the menu layout and options for improved clarity and ease of ordering. The three breakfasts: Continental, Traditional, and Classic Omelette provide a range of options and flavours to start the days that we prepare fresh, hot, and quick for every one of our guests.

Daniel Ackland to oversee all food operations at St. Regis Bar & Grill
Located in the historic St. Regis Hotel, the St. Regis Bar & Grill is a favourite downtown stop for lunch, dinner, game night and late-night snacks. The St. Regis Hotel is pleased to announce the appointment of
Daniel Ackland as Executive Chef overseeing all food operations at the Bar & Grill.
Daniel brings a great range of experience to the position having worked in BC kitchens for over 15 years including recent appointments as the opening chef for Tacofino Gastown, Per Se Social Corner, The Blackbird, and as regional chef for Donnelly Group.
“We’re very excited to have Daniel join our team”, said St. Regis Hotel general manager Jeremy Roncoroni. “He’s got a very strong background in menu development and operations and we’re sure that our guests are going to enjoy the new dishes and creations which will be added to our menu.”
The St. Regis Bar & Grill is a popular venue for parties and private events in The Regis Room, and Daniel will also be tasked with reimagining the menus for group dining. “Daniel has also worked with a broad variety of local growers and suppliers and we’re excited for a fresh perspective he will bring to our sourcing and group dining.”

ST. REGIS HOTEL ADDS L’OCCITANE EN PROVENCE IN-ROOM AMENITIES
We’ve always been proud to offer superb spa-quality beauty and bath products for to our guests and when it came time to renew the amenities supplier contract this year, it was an ideal opportunity to see if we could even further upgrade our in-room offering.
In looking at products from a number of suppliers, the range from L’Occitane en Provence was the clear choice and well worth the added cost we would incur to place the products in guestrooms. We chose products from L’Occitane’s Citrus Verbena collection which uses French citrus essential oils with the extract of organic verbena for a luxurious feel that gentle on the body and environment. The in-room offering includes a full range of products like soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion.

1. The modern art. When the hotel was overhauled in 2009, the aim was to create a boutique hotel that included heaps of modern art. You’ll spot large abstract paintings at the ends of the hallways, hanging next to the reception desk and dotted throughout the property.
2. You can rent an iPad. For $25 a day, you can surf the Internet via an Apple iPad, and with strong wireless throughout the hotel, you can do so from your guest room, the lobby or the business center.
